Research and innovation
Our world-class approach to research is centred around impact, spanning both basic dental sciences and clinical dental sciences. Through our expertise and collaborations we look to improve the quality of oral health and the delivery of dental care both nationally and internationally. This work is undertaken in research facilities which are amongst the best in the world, including our £1.7m dental translational and clinical research unit.

The Dental Research Ethics Committee (DREC) is chaired by Dr Jinous Tahmassebi and Deputy Chair Dr Jianhua Wu. DREC meets on a monthly basis to review all postgraduate and staff non-NHS and educational research projects. See more for further details.
